A write-up on our Charity Bake Sale

After sweating it out in the kitchen, Sowmya and I dolled up on the last day to please the lenses and I must say the pictures in United Voice were simply divine.

Mind you I'm referring to the food and our little helpers, namely Intan, Izzuddin, Pavala and Jennifer.

They made the baking fun and we felt extremely energetic being around them.

Here is our article (from a journalist point of view). Feel free to leave your comments here or e-mail us at velvetvintage09@gmail.com

Why Velvet Vintage

The very best velvet is made from silk, woven on a special loom that weaves two pieces of velvet at the same time.

The cakes we make are recipes passed down from our mothers, grandmothers and aunts - the grande dames of cake-making where we come from. They are vintage tastes which we remember being lovingly prepared in warm kitchens, but remain secrets carefully guarded by our families.

It's time to share their delicious desserts in the same way they prepared it. We strive to keep to the same old fashion methods of preparing cakes, using a gas oven as one example. Go on.. tell us if your taste buds are tickled.
